Poetry Challange, Day 2
Life Near Lake Erie in April

On Monday morning some folks awoke to about a half a foot of snow.
Our street looked like a Christmas card but the drivin’ was pretty slow.
I couldn’t let that distract me, ’cause I had a lawn to mow.
That’s what it’s like when you live near The Lake and got nowhere else to go!

That smiling guy on channel five said it would be mostly cloudy,
Except for those unfortunates in Lake and Ashtabula counties,
Why anyone wants to live up there I guess I’ll never know, but
That’s what it’s like when you live near The Lake and got nowhere else to go!

The pretty lady on Channel Three showed us all the Highs and the Lows.
She should’a showed ’em to the Lake ’cause as the wind now blows,
We’ll be up to our ankles in “partly cloudy” again, but then again , as everyone knows,
That’s what it’s like when you live near The Lake and got nowhere else to go!

We live right here in Cuyahoga Falls,
And need to drive five miles to Stow
But I’ll put that off a day or two
‘Cause by then as we all know
It will be mostly sunny with a high of 84.
That’s what it’s like when you live near The Lake and got nowhere else to go!
