Poetry Challenge Day 19
Things come wrapped in strange packages,
They’re not always what they first seem.
Beauty’s not always boxed up so pretty,
And dirty comes wrapped up as clean.
Big hearts can be found in stingy people,
While the big, friendly boaster has none.
You can’t tell a church by its steeple,
Or every town hall would have one.
Many things come dressed up in ugly,
But, deep down, if you take time to see,
They may be a whole lot more snuggly,
Like tadpoles, turtles, hedgehogs, and me.
